Growing Up Pains

I went to sleep last night
searching for the
second star to the right.
And to my great surprise,
a shadow came in to
help me in this 
quest of mine.
It sprinkled me with dust
and told me to believe
that we could fly.
Believe - that's what it said.
So I jumped through 
the ledge and into
the dark and still night sky;
and together we flew
straight to the second
star to the right.
As we came near, 
the brightness blinded me
and forced my eyes to shut.
And as I opened it up, 
morning arrived and
here I am once more 
locked inside this dingy room,
with a desk filled with
stacks of papers,
piling up high.
