Legs getting pulled underneath the rolling waves.
Cars crashing right before the finish line.
People turning their backs just before
you can say you're sorry.
But it doesn't always have to end
with you lying on the mat, surrendering to defeat.
Take a deep breath,
breathe it slow and count to three.
Pull yourself up, brace your legs,
raise your fists and look at it straight in the eye.
Demand for another round and this time,
make sure you finally get it right.
