If My Heart Was A House

An anxious heart searching for comfort
within these sacred stone walls.
Worn out knees found rest
on creaking pews.
Elbows leaning,
fingers pressing against one another,
creating a tent of hollowed space
as she prays for a miracle.
For his hands to slide between hers,
and finally displace
the cold air in between
and fill it with his warmth.

Chills run down my spine as our fingers entwine
and your sighs harmonize with mine....

Circle me and the needle moves gracefully
Back and forth, if my heart was a compass you'd be North
Risk it all cause I'll catch you if you fall
Wherever you go, if my heart was a house you'd be home
