You ask for more
than I could give,
if you take it all
how else would I live?
You were the first
to make me want,
of things that
I have never had.
Once I believed of
happily ever afters,
until I saw the world
and its real ever afters.
I learned to be careful
of each step I took,
to keep myself from
falling through
crevices and crooks.
How could you want
something that could give
you less than you ever could,
if there are others
who's willing to give you
more than I ever could?
